Here’s a sneak peak at my debut novel, “Order of Orion: Chimera”.

The year is 1836. On the United Frontier, you fight for your life. Native tribes, hostile terrains, and strange creatures make it a hard place to live.

This Earth is different from our own. The western hemisphere is an entirely different place. Funded and governed by tycoons, it is free from the tyranny of kings. The men who venture west or south of the United Frontier are met with impassable mountains and unforgiving deserts, making the settled area of the continent roughly half the size of our United States.

Technology in this world has advanced more quickly than ours. Wars between allied European countries and smaller countries in the Middle East and Asia have rapidly advanced weaponry to that of our world’s late nineteenth century. The United Frontier is a hub of industry, a joint venture of many European countries. Due to a lack of varied resources and a surplus of European loyalists, the United Frontier is simply an extension of many European countries, who are still run by traditional monarchies.
Monsters are real, and have migrated alongside human colonization from the dawn of their existence, creating the basis for mythology and beasts of the night. The Veil hides them from the eyes of normal men. Hunters of the Order of Orion however, can see through the Veil to the other side, where monsters reside. Some can even see the Veil itself as it blankets all living things, manipulating it to their will…
